From Veteran Frustration to Innovation
VA Claim Buddy was born from personal experience and the determination to help fellow veterans navigate the complex VA claims process. As a Retired Air Force Veteran, I understand firsthand the challenges veterans face when preparing their disability claims.
"Who the hell?! POL!!"
During my SkillBridge transition program, I began working on my own VA claims. Like many veterans, I met with a Veterans Service Officer (VSO) who provided me with a basic list of potential claims. However, I wasn't satisfied with the vagueness of their assessment.
Determined to get the benefits I earned, I decided to review my own medical records. Over 2,000 pages later, I realized it was nearly impossible to manually review 20+ years of comprehensive medical documentation. That's when I knew there had to be a better way.
Drawing on my intelligence background and passion for technology, I created an AI/Machine Learning program to analyze my medical records systematically. The program worked exceptionally well, allowing me to identify and file claims for every specific diagnosed condition that was ratable under 38 CFR.
After seeing the incredible results for my own claims, I realized this technology could help thousands of other veterans facing the same overwhelming challenge. That's how VA Claim Buddy was born - from a personal need that became a mission to serve my fellow veterans.
